Emmalyn and my first time meeting little baby Alys, daughter of my friend, Trisha.

Pulling up and standing, and practicing walking along the couch. Daddy supervises.

She LOVES her bath time. I think her favorite part is watching the water fill up the tub.
Playtime before bed

July 19
It's baby food time! Total cost for over 70 ounces of food? $7
Butternut squash, apples and sweet potatoes
July 20
Work field trip to the Orange County Regional History Center in downtown Orlando.
Love all the vintage orange grove packaging designs.

Dinner at the Ale House. Such a big girl sitting in her high chair!

July 21
Work from home day. Emmalyn keeps herself entertained while I plow through my to-do list.

Dinner time. Feeding herself some avocado.

Trying some shredded cheese for the first time.

Attempted to make a cappuccino in the Magic Bullet. Not bad!

Saturday morning playtime. Watching Beckham eat her breakfast. Emmalyn has taken quite the interest in the dog food.

Surprise Visit!

Last night was just another night. Ate dinner, watched a little television, went to bed early...same old, same old. My phone rang at midnight and I woke up to see it was my mom calling. Sometimes she forgets the time difference between Florida and Wisconsin and so I'm used to getting the occasional late night call. I sleepily answered to hear her laughing. She asked what I was doing, I said I was sleeping. Then she really woke me up by saying, "We're in your driveway! We came to see the baby!" {Our gender ultrasound is on Wednesday}

Turns out that my parents had planned a surprise visit - only my sisters knew! I was so shocked to see them! I'm so happy that they'll be able to share in the ultrasound with us.

Fourth of July Celebration

We had a fun-filled, relaxing weekend. Friday was spent cleaning the house and running a few errands, getting ready for Saturday's cook-out.

On Saturday, we slept in until nine, and then it was time to prep for the afternoon's festivities. Family and friends started showing up around 3:00, and the food started to flow.

The ladies gathered in the kitchen to prep the appetizers:

Lisa works diligently on the tortilla roll-ups, made by my mother-in-law, Kathy.

Jason's wonderful grill creations: pork tenderloin, barbecued chicken, peach-glazed chicken and ribs.

Kayla and Tim's dog, Tug, enjoys his tennis ball and diving into the pool.

Our final spread of goodies!

Amber stopped by to visit-husband Zach was out of town for a wedding. Check out her cute fireworks shirt she made!

After eating a hearty meal, we headed out back for a game of horseshoes.

Yes, it was hot and humid. And yes, that is a paper towel I'm using for a sweat rag. Dad would be proud!

After horseshoes, we enjoyed a bowl of homemade ice-cream (my first!) while playing Banana-grams.

Sisters!

My adorable husband

Fireworks time!

Time for the grand finale!

After our backyard fireworks show, we headed inside to watch the New York fireworks on the big screen, complete with surround sound. It was a wonderful day and a great weekend! Happy Fourth of July everyone!
