{the hidden baby journals} week 7
Well, our first visit to the doctor went well. We met our obstetrician, who I absolutely love. He's a down-to-earth guy, explained everything that's happening to the baby and to me. We had our very first ultrasound and found out that our due date is officially November 23, 2010. Little bean really did look like a little bean, though you could see the slight flicker of the heart beating, which was such a miracle to see! Bean is the size of a blueberry this week - it's hard to believe that the baby goes from the size of a poppyseed to a blueberry in a matter of a few weeks. Truly amazing!Maternity clothes? None yet, but I am having to do the rubber-band trick with my jeans. They still fit, but it's much more comfortable to leave them unbuttoned.
Food cravings: Cereal
Gender: Let's still go with boy.
Labor Signs: None

{the hidden baby journals} week 6
March 24, 2010
Well, it's been an exciting two weeks since we found out about the little bean! As fun as it may be to have a secret between the two of us, we could not wait to share the news with our parents. Since my parents are in Wisconsin, I decided to be a little sly. Nothing like getting a baby onesie in the mail to break the news!

What I miss: Having a glass of wine on the weekends.

I'm pregnant! I'm freaking out just a little, but I'm so happy, so excited and cannot wait to share this journey with all of you.
Right now, baby is the size of a poppyseed, according to The Bump. So tiny! Cannot believe that there is a little human growing inside of me.

An angel among us
It's been a tough couple months with the deaths of family friend, Dan Kenneavy, and my college friend, Lindsey Wasley Lewis. Last Monday I heard the news that the priest from my home parish had suffered a fall last Monday in the bitter Wisconsin cold. With a traumatic brain injury, he'd been in a coma until this morning, when he left this world to be in the arms of our Lord Jesus. Fr. Mike was truly an angel - how blessed I am to have encountered such kindness and compassion from one human being.
